Then came the months of watching your ad spending go up while your profits don’t change. Raising your bids increases your spending but doesn’t get you the new customers you want. Lowering your bids just decreases your clicks and customers.
You’re just not getting the clicks you expected. Or those clicks are not turning into enough customers — you’re paying more to get a customer than you earn from them. All the profit potential that seemed to be there just isn’t showing up.
What’s The Missing Piece?
A lot of the time it seems like nothing you do makes a difference. You have so many different things to juggle with Adwords:
Cost per click…
How do you balance all of that to actually increase your profits? Which data will help you instead of just confusing things more? Should you try to out-bid your competitors? Or should you look for keywords that cost less?
The bottom line is this: you need to find what will actually drive real, profitable sales from your Adwords campaigns. Those “Top 5 Adwords Tricks to Try in 2017” aren’t working for you. The article about changing punctuation to get a 31% increase in clickthroughs never made a difference in your ads. And if you reach out to Google’s support you might actually find your results getting worse!
It Seems To Be Working For Other Companies — Even Your Competitors — Why Doesn’t It Work For You?
Remember what drew you to Adwords in the first place? The promise that with the click of a button you could turn on instant traffic and start making more sales. Knowing that with all the data you can tell exactly what’s happening, so you could see at a glance what’s working and what isn’t. Being able to expand your customer base or your product offering just by looking up new keywords.
And what it really comes down to is finally having real control over your business. Not having to worry about where your customers will come from. Not having to wonder when you’ll be able to increase sales and profits.
Not having to hope that vague promises from SEO optimizers will get you where you want. Look, SEO is great and it can be very profitable. But what do you think happens if three companies hire three different SEO consultants that all “guarantee” to get them to #1 for the same keyword? Adwords removes the uncertainty and the delay — you know exactly what it takes to get to #1 today.
How would your business change if you knew that you could actually get those promised results? If you could get more leads, more customers, more sales, and more profits whenever you want?

What People Are Saying
”Using just the information from Richard’s free one-hour presentation, I doubled my clickthrough rate in one week” – Mark
Does Adwords still matter to my business or should I be using Facebook Ads like everyone else? Or should I use something free like SEO?
Adwords still attracts billions of dollars more than Facebook Ads. Although Facebook can be effective, Adwords has one huge advantage: when someone types in a search you know what they want at that instant. It’s much easier to write an ad and a landing page that gives them what they are looking for. Compare that to Facebook campaigns where you have to carefully grab attention in between cat photos and you can’t make the sale too fast or you’ll lose their attention.
Facebook may be more effective than Adwords in two situations: when your customers don’t know what they want so they aren’t searching for it on Google, or when you are retargeting customers who have already shown interest. Both of those can be done with the Adwords display network but that’s not covered in the book. You can apply retargeting to Google searches and the book will explain how. This can be a valuable way to bid on keywords that might otherwise be too weak to make a profit.
As for SEO, a free way to get on top of the Google rankings sounds great. There are only two problems: it ain’t free, and no one can guarantee that you’ll get to the top (or how long it will take). You either spend time on it or you pay SEO consultants who may or may not get you good results. Then you wait. And if your competitors have better SEO than you you’re out of luck. Oh yeah, one other problem: if SEO does work out really well for you, you’re always thinking about the next Google algorithm change that will kill your traffic!
Bottom line: all of these strategies can be effective and you may want to use them all. Ideally you should focus your attention on just a few marketing channels that work well for you. If customers are going on Google to look for what you have to offer and they are willing to pay a good price for it, then Adwords is the fastest and most predictable way to get them to your website and get a lead or a sale.
Do I need Adwords experience to use this book?
Not necessarily. In fact Adwords sometimes encourages you to do the wrong thing. You could have bad habits if you haven’t started with the right strategies! This book will not cover the basic how-to steps of logging into your account and where to click to create a campaign. However you can easily find guides for those online, in Google’s help center and elsewhere. The thing is you could follow all those instructions and just end up wasting your budget without getting any customers. This book will teach you how to avoid that fate.
Am I too advanced to benefit from this book?
If you’re part of the Expedia team that spends $2 billion a year on Adwords, maybe. But hey, call me and we’ll see if I can make your results even better!
For anyone else, there’s a very good chance that there’s something you could do to increase your profits and it’s in the book. The last chapter of the book will even help you find that without having to go through everything you’ve mastered already.
And if you are one of the tiny percentage of accounts that is applying all of these strategies flawlessly, just tell me and I will happily refund the whole price. Plus you get to go around telling everyone that your campaigns are absolutely perfect! It’s win-win (for you).
The only case where you should avoid this book altogether is if your Adwords campaigns are so profitable already that it would be a complete waste of time to try to get any more profits out of them.
Do I need to do it all myself?
Certainly not! You can hire someone directly to manage this for you (and give them the book as a guide) or you can use it to choose an agency that understands the difference between bidding on keywords and creating profitable, targeted campaigns.
Do I need to hire someone else to do this?
Not at all! If you want to build your own campaigns you can use the book as a complete strategy guide. It may take a few days to a week to set up the campaigns but after that you can just do easier maintenance to keep them going. If your time is limited you want to focus on a small number of highly targeted and highly profitable keywords and work to make sure the ads and landing pages are perfectly tuned for them.
